These terms cover how you use the members.io app and website to hold and manage your memberships. Each business you join has its own rules too -- these terms are about members.io itself, the platform that connects you to them.
members.io is operated by MEMBERS.IO LIMITED, at Plot 359, Flat 1, Cadastral Zone B02, Durumi, Abuja. When we say “we,” “us” or “members.io” in these terms, we mean MEMBERS.IO LIMITED. When we say “you,” we mean the person who creates a members.io account.
Members and businesses in Nigeria can create accounts and access members.io on the web at membersdotio.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA). Applicable prices, payment fees and service terms are shown before you confirm a purchase or booking.
members.io is the platform that lets you hold digital membership cards for the gyms, salons, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other businesses you belong to, all in one app. We are not the business itself -- each business you join through members.io is a separate, independent entity responsible for its own products, services, pricing and policies.
You need a members.io account to use the app. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials and the device you use them on secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to create an account. If you’re using members.io on behalf of a minor with a business’s permission (for example, a family membership), you’re responsible for that use.
A membership is the relationship between you and a specific business, represented as a card in your members.io wallet. Joining a business through members.io does not make members.io a party to that relationship -- the business sets its own membership terms, pricing, cancellation policy and rules, and you agree to those separately (often when you first join, in person or through their own sign-up flow).
You can join a business by scanning a code, accepting an invite, or signing up directly with them. Once you’re joined, that business’s card appears in your wallet along with whatever information they choose to show you there -- points, visit history, upcoming bookings and receipts, for example.
Each business decides which members.io features it uses (check-in, bookings, loyalty points, billing and so on), and is responsible for the accuracy of what it shows you through the app -- your balance, your visit history, and any offers or rewards. If something looks wrong with a specific membership, the business is usually best placed to fix it; we’re happy to help you reach them if you’re not sure how.
Where a business accepts payments, tips or dues through members.io, those payments are processed by our payment partners and go to the business, less any fees disclosed at the time. We don’t store your full card number -- see our privacy policy for what we do keep.
Loyalty points, rewards and credit shown in the app belong to the issuing business’s own program, not to members.io. Their value, expiry and redemption rules are set by that business, and may change or be discontinued if the business changes its program or leaves members.io, subject to any notice they owe you directly.
Use members.io the way it’s meant to be used: to manage your own real memberships. Don’t create accounts for other people without their permission, share a membership card in a way a business prohibits, try to interfere with the app’s security, or use members.io to harass a business or another member.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misuses the platform, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent -- we’ll try to tell you why when we can.
You can delete your members.io account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your cards, points display and receipts from the app; it doesn’t automatically end a paid membership, subscription or booking you hold directly with a business -- cancel those with the business itself.
Businesses keep their own transaction records after you delete your account, since they may have their own legal, tax or accounting reasons to do so, independent of members.io.
members.io connects you with independent businesses; we don’t control the services those businesses provide. Where an eligible platform payment is disputed, members.io may review transaction records, fulfilment evidence and responses from both parties, then make a binding platform decision, including a full or partial refund. This process does not make members.io the provider of the underlying goods or services.
Businesses authorise members.io to hold the disputed portion of unsettled proceeds and, where a valid refund relates to money already settled, recover it from future amounts payable to that business. Both parties must provide truthful evidence by the stated deadline. A party may use the one-time appeal shown in the dispute record; provider chargebacks remain subject to the payment provider and card-network rules.
To the extent the law allows, we provide members.io “as is” and aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as liability for our own fraud or gross negligence.
We may update these terms as members.io changes -- if we make a material change, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use members.io after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
